Uthuwakanda is one of the most known places in Sri Lanka because this mountain was used by "Uthuwankande Sura Saradiyel," who was also known as "The Robin Hood of Sri Lanka" to hide from the British government that ruled Sri Lanka at that time. He fought against the British government and helped innocent people.

Four other friends joined with me on this journey. We had planned to reach Kadugannawa by train, that leaving Colombo at 5.55 am. We left early in the morning, and four of us arrived at the station on time, but one of us couldn't make it. We started by train, asking our friend to get to the Kadugannawa by bus. After hours of a beautiful train journey, We reached Kadugannawa, and our friend was already there on time.

We had breakfast in Kadugannawa and got a bus to go to Mawanella. Since there are several more kilometers to travel from Mawanella to Utuwankanda, We got two tuk-tuks to get there. As we arrived there, the sun was already high, so we started climbing the mountain promptly.

After about an hour's rough journey, we were able to reach the top of Utuwankanda. Getting to the top of the Uthuwankanda is a bit difficult because you have to climb very upright stone. Two of us were resting on the mountain while the others climbed to the top of the rock. After getting the necessary footage on the hill, we started our descent back from the mountain, intending to visit Saradiyel village.

Saradiel Village is a model village that made just like the village where Saradiel lived at the time. Everyone who comes here will have all the necessary knowledge of Saradiel's history. Of course, you have to buy tickets for a small price to visit Saradiyel village.

After visiting Saradiel Village, we returned to Mawanella and had lunch and then returned to Kadugannawa and get on the train to get to Colombo. It was already late at night when we reached Colombo from Kadugannawa, so we took a taxi and headed back to our homes.
